Gratitude and Gospel: More Than a List {VIDEO}

Sometimes I am guilty of letting days pass me by without reflecting on my blessings. It's usually when I'm feeling sorry for myself or when I'm “too busy”. With the holiday season rapidly approaching we are going to be bombarded with the gratitude message. Thanksgiving is a time to indeed give thanks. But are we linking Gratitude and Gospel as we do this? Do we go far enough in our thankfulness? And are we doing it consistently every day of the year?

Gratitude and the Gospel {VIDEO}

In the 8th episode of the Grace in Color Facebook Live Show we took a look specifically at how we should tether that gratitude to the Gospel.

Gratitude and Gospel

  1.  We were created for Gratitude.  We exist for worship and to love, praise and appreciate God.
  2. Because we are sinners, we fail in this repeatedly.
  3. Jesus provided an example of Biblical gratitude (Matthew 11:25, Mark 8:6, John 6:23). And he died on a cross on our behalf, redeeming us despite our chronic ingratitude.
  4. Because of Christ's sacrifice on that cross, we have been saved from that ingratitude and from God's righteous wrath.  When we get a true understanding of the amazing grace we have been given, we will have no choice but to live in continual thanksgiving.
