What To Do When Everything Changes
Everything changes.

Seasons Change
I'm writing this in the Autumn and it is the time of year where I am reminded that the world around us is ever-changing. The leaves are turning and falling from the trees. The temperature is cooling and although it's definitely still “layering” weather around here in Georgia, it's much different from the blistering summer heat.
It is changing.
Families Change
I watch my kids as they continue to grow and mature. I recognize the signs of independence that always make me both proud and a little sad. I am an observer of their transformations into the next stages of their lives, and although sometimes I want nothing more than to hold onto the past, I also am excited about their futures.
They are changing.
Our Bodies Change
This one is particularly uncomfortable for me, but I see my body altering as time passes by. I feel those changes when I get up out of bed each morning… slowly. And I don't love it, LOL. Yet, it's just one more reminder of the cycle of life (not the circle… I'm not going to get all “Lion King” on you).
I am changing.
The World Around Us Changes
If you've lived longer than a minute, you can see this. And with social media, the 24-hour news cycle, and the wonders of technology, things are shifting even more rapidly than ever before. We are facing social crises that I never dreamed we would be dealing with and sometimes it makes me weep.
It is changing.
And yet, God Never Changes
We can't stop the changes. But we can hold on tight to the One who never will.
It's hard for me to wrap my mind around a God who is in control over all of these changes, both big and small, but is Himself the same yesterday, today, and forever.
And yet, that is exactly who He is.
- Our unchanging Rock.
Psalm 78:35 “They remembered that God was their rock, the Most High God their redeemer.” - The Alpha and Omega.
Revelation 1:8 ““I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”” - The Beginning and the End.
Revelation 22:13 “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.”” - Without variation.
James 1:17 “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.” - Immortal and worthy.
1 Timothy 1:17 “To the King of the ages, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.”
And He is the One who will see you through every transition until you one day see Him face to face.
What a glorious day that will be. And what a blessing that we get to see so many changes until that day.
Below is a free gift for you that I felt showed off the season we are in right now and some verses I hold onto as the world sometimes seems to spin out of my control. Enjoy.
